Pakistan violates ceasefire in Poonch, Rajouri; Army jawan, 8-year-old girl killed

Srinagar: In an unfortunate incident, an Army jawan and eight-year-old girl Sajida Kafeel, lost their lives in ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

The girl and Naik Muddasar Ahmed died after Pakistan Army targeted forward posts along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri district.

Meanwhile, Indian security forces have strongly retaliated to the unprovoked firing from the Indian side.

The Pakistani forces targeted the forces in Poonch's Balakote and Rajouri's Manjakote area.

There have been more than 20 incidents of ceasefire violation, one BAT attack and two infiltration bids by Pakistan in June in which four people, including three jawans, were killed and 12 injured.
